Not really.
Got sent to Hawaii for work.
Got a good rental, Wrangler 4 door hard top.
Gonna hop over to Kaua'i tomorrow., so the rental review will be short.

I'm in Honolulu right now. Didn't feel the earthquake. This is also my 6th or 7th hurricane. I've driven through Irene & Sandy as well for work, so it's no big deal.

It's a nonprofit coalition that does emergency management (planning, training and exercises, and WATrac) in the Northwest. Coordinating between Washington, Oregon, Northern California, up into parts of Alaska, and I believe into a couple of the states east of WA/OR.
He met another group that operates in the Midwest at a conference and got invited to work emergency controls for the Indy 500, which is how I got a free hotel room to crash in there and is the reason I got to go to the Indy 500 this year. haha

I have a question about Volvo accessories . I'm planning on getting the OEM roof rack and bike rack for my C30. Even though the C30 is out of production, do dealers still sell them? Also, the roof rack is removable right?
![]() 08/07/2014 at 16:45 |

yes it is removable and available. What year C30 and I could look it up for you

we have different style bicycle holders. (#1 is not available)
and this is the roof rails
you can go on Volvo's website to browse the accessory site or swing by your local dealer. All these items are available to order :]

What sort of duties does your job entail, if you don't mind me asking?
What does the daily life of an emergency management asshole look like?

Thank you! I have service coming up soon and was hoping to be able to get them then.

I do disaster communications. Daily life is pretty boring. Maintain equipment (I'm IT by trade), daily IT duties, etc.
Disaster stuff is awesome. For example;Yesterday at about 8:30am PST, I was asked if I wanted to go to Hawaii. I obviously said yes, and was told I needed to go home and pack at about 9am. My flight left at 1:25pm PST. I'm here in Hawaii supporting some people doing some IT & Radio work before/during/after the storm.
In other disasters, I run a vehicle that is used as a mobile office with a small radio package & full IT setup (satcom data & phones, sat phones, etc).
During Hurricane Sandy, I did all of the external (outside of the main office we setup) communications coordination for the federal side in New Jersey.
I'm also a cable pulling monkey, mobile device guru, and whatever else I need to be.
It's good work if you can get it.

Yeah I'd hate that job too... ha ha. Since the wife and I have become empty nesters, it is increasingly more tempting to get into a line of work that involves some traveling. It isn't always glorious, but assignments like Hawaii from time to time can make it all worth while.
